Seit 1999 ist sie Mitarbeiterin am Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung, Berlin, Forschungsbereich Erziehungswissenschaft und Bildungssysteme. Forschungsinteressen: Unterrichtsforschung, Motivation im schulischen Kontext und Kompetenz von Lehrkräften. Prof. Dr. Mareike Kunter lehrt Pädagogische Psychologie an der Universität Frankfurt.

Cognitive Activation in the Mathematics Classroom and *Professional Competence of Teachers* presents the findings of the Professional Competence of Teachers, Cognitively Activating Instruction, and Development of Students´ Mathematical Literacy project (COACTIV).
