Marie's Culinary World Tour - A culinary journey around the world with great international recipes and creations. Let yourself be surprised. Marie Cruickshank was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1945. She studied home economics at the Belfast College of Domestic Science. As a teacher, she was able to travel a lot during her school holidays and spent a lot of time with French friends and family in France, where her love of gastronomy began. Whilst travelling, she began to collect interesting recipes from all parts of Europe and develop her own cooking ideas. It was on one of these trips that she met the love of her life, her husband Blair, who invited her to travel with him to the romantic Scottish Highlands, a place that offers a cuisine all of its own. It's a place that has more to offer than beautiful landscapes, mythical stone circles and haggis. As well as beautiful castles and rolling hills, it's also home to wild local salmon, excellent beef and lamb and fields of strawberries and raspberries. Marie has lived with her husband for 37 years in the cosy seaside town of Nairn on the beautiful Moray Firth. The small town in the Scottish Highlands has seen many celebrities holiday here, including Charlie Chaplin and Burt Lancaster, and is famous for its championship golf courses. After taking early retirement from teaching, Marie Cruickshank founded an online travel company that offered customised trips through Scotland, Ireland and France. In 2006, she was honoured as Highland Business Woman of the Year. Her travel business has taken her around a lot. She inspected restaurants in Scotland, Ireland and France for inspiration and to complete her book, which she hopes you will enjoy.
Autorentext
Marie Cruickshank, geb. 1945 in Irland, studierte Hauswirtschaft am Belfast College of Domestic Science. 2006 wurde sie als Highland Business Woman of the Year ausgezeichnet.
