The Letters to the Seven Churches of Asia (Illustrated Edition)

The Seven Churches of Asia, also known as the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse and the Seven Churches of Revelation, are seven major churches of Early Christianity, as mentioned in the New Testament Book of Revelation. All of them are located in the Asia Minor, present-day Turkey.
This book examines seven messages John of Patmos sent to those churches. According to Revelation 1:11, on the Greek island of Patmos, Jesus Christ instructs John of Patmos to: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

Sir William Mitchell Ramsay (1851 1939) was a Scottish archaeologist and New Testament scholar. He is known as one of the most influential authorities on the history of Asia Minor and a leading scholar in the study of the New Testament. Ramsay was one of the original members of the British Academy, was awarded the Gold Medal of Pope Leo XIII in 1893 and the Victorian Medal of the Royal Geographical Society in 1906.
