Hamid Jahankhani obtained a PhD from the Queen Mary College, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, University of London and also became the first Professor of Information Security and Cyber Criminology at UEL in 2010. Hamid's principal research area for a number of years has been in the field of cyber security, information security and digital forensics and is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics and general chair of the annual International Conference on Global Security, Safety and Sustainability (ICGS3). Hamid has edited and contributed to over 25 books and has over 200 conference and journal publications on cyber criminology, cyber abuse, Cyber Defence, Blockchain, governance, Smart Societies and Augmented Humanity, satellite communications governance and 5G together with various blogs and BBC radio interviews.
Reza Montasari is a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Threats at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. Reza's main research interests lie in the areas of Digital Forensics and Cyber Security but also include Cyber Law and Cyber Terrorism. Reza has authored numerous journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, media articles and recently co-edited a volume (with Springer) entitled "Digital Forensic Investigation of Internet of Things (IoT) Devices. Reza serves as an Editorial Board Member, a Programme Steering Committee Member and a Reviewer for a number of leading international journals and conferences in the fields of Digital Forensics and Cyber Security. Reza has previously worked with a number of UK police forces and is a Guest Writer for Today's Legal Cyber Risk to provide advice on the latest Cyber Security issues.
Stefan Kendzierskyj is a long-serving executive Director with extensive commercial and leadership skills in the digital transformation space for cyber security, SaaS products/services, AI/ML solutions and Cloud services.
Stefan holds a MSc in Cyber Security and is a Fellow of the RSA and a Member of the IET. He has also published a number of articles and books with high profile Publishers regarding blockchain, privacy of data and securing of critical national infrastructure.
Nishan Chelvachandran is a high-level cybersecurity adviser, strategist, researcher and former UK Police Officer, with years of experience built on the strong foundations of bespoke operational activity in the UK Public Sector. Nishan's research interests include Big Data keyword and behavioural analytics, jurisdictional and legislative affairs relating to cyber-operations and cyber-warfare, ethical frameworks for mass and automated data surveillance, profiling and decision-making, AI and it's ethical and responsible use and design.

A cohesive volume, where each chapter addresses a challenging problem and presents a range of innovative approaches and discussion. The prolificacy and accessibility of technology and digital communication platforms is not only empowering a new form of communication between people and communities, but changing the way individuals, communities and society collectively think, act, and behave. Social media, as an open-source tool, has lowered the barrier for the consumption of digital and technologically based information. Many of these platforms are "free to use" by the user, thus enhancing its accessibility.
Social media has spread rapidly on the global stage, driving consumers' attention and influence, both consciously and subconsciously. Whilst this type of platform may have been initially designed as a tool for open communication and expression, it is also being utilised as a digital tool, with widescale use cases. The intelligence explosion, information overload and disinformation plays a significant part regarding individual, group and country perceptions. The complex nature of this data explosion created an increasing demand and use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to help provide 'big insights' to 'big data'. AI and ML enable the analysis and dissemination of vast amounts of data, however the ungoverned pace at which AI and autonomous systems have been deployed, has created unforeseen problems. Many algorithms and AI systems have been trained on limited or unverified datasets, creating inbuilt and unseen biases. Where these algorithmic tools have been deployed in high impact systems, there are documented occurrences of disastrous decision making and outcomes that have negatively impacted people and communities. Little to no work had been conducted in its vulnerability and ability to exploit AI itself. So, AI and autonomous systems, whilst being a force for societal good, could have the potential to create and exacerbate societies greatest challenges.
