Drawing on the graphic and revealing evidence recorded by the different courts in early modern Saragossa, this book captures the spirit of an age when religious faith vied for people's hearts and minds with centuries-old beliefs in witchcraft and superstition.

Auteur

María Tausiet is an independent scholar. Her research focuses on early modern Spanish religious history. She has published books on witchcraft and magic, demonic possession and the history of emotions, as well as a number of articles about aspects of the Catholic Reformation. She is currently preparing various works on the notion of immortality and its depiction in scientific and fantastical representations of the afterlife.
