This book covers the latest information related to understanding immune responses to engineered nanomaterials (ENMs). Many ENMs used in both the consumer and biomedical fields have been reported to elicit adverse immune responses ranging from innate immune responses such as complement activation to changes in adaptive immunity that influence pathogen responses and promote disease states such as asthma. Auteur
James C. Bonner is Professor of Toxicology at North Carolina State University. His research focuses on the fibroproliferative effects of nanomaterials in the lung, particularly in susceptible disease models.
Jared M. Brown is Professor of Toxicology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. His research focuses on allergic immune responses to nanomaterials and their application in medicine.
