Dirk Meissner is Head of the Laboratory for Economics of Innovation at the National Research University's Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) and Academic Head of the international masters program 'Governance Science, Technology and Innovation'. Dr. Meissner has more than 20 years experience in research and teaching technology and innovation management and policy, with a strong background in policy-making and industrial management with special focus on innovation and technology management, foresight and roadmapping, among other areas. Prior to joining the HSE, he was responsible for Technology and Innovation policy at the presidential office of the Swiss Science and Technology Council. He also has long experience in top level consulting to key decision makers in industry as a management consultant for technology and innovation management with Arthur D. Little. Dr. Meissner represented Switzerland and currently the Russian Federation at the OECD Working Party on Technology and Innovation Policy. Dr. Meissner is Associate Editor of Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Intellectual Capital and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management and guest editor of several Special Issues on Technology and Innovation Management in leading journals. Tugrul U. Daim is Professor and Director of the doctoral program in Technology Management at the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University (USA). He is also the Director of the Research Group on Infrastructure and Technology Management and a Faculty Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Solutions. Dr. Daim's research has been funded by US Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, National Cooperative Highway Research Program, and many other regional, national and international organizations. His publishing activity includes authoring articles for several international journals, conference proceedings, as well as editing special issues in journals and writing many successful books in the areas of R&D and technology management.
