It's 1953, and somehow Tom managed to talk Netty into marrying him two weeks after they meet. Three months later, instead of getting comfortable with each other, confusion multiplies like mushrooms after a month of summer rain. Tom, an Air Force officer, is mustering out of the service near the end of the Korean War. Netty is terrified of their upcoming move from Mesa, Arizona, to Tom's hometown in Virginia, and Tom can't figure out why.
