Auteur
Dr. Miroslav Mateev is a Vice President for Research and Advancement and a full time Professor at the College of Business Administration at the American University in the Emirates. Dr Mateev holds two doctoral degrees PhD in Industrial Management and Doctor of Economic Sciences in Finance, from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia. Professor Mateev's interest in teaching was conceived 20 years ago during his MSc. degree study in International Finance at London Business School in the UK. He also specialized at Harvard Business School, where he focused on case writing and case teaching as part of his teaching methodology. He has published six textbooks and a number of papers in the areas of corporate finance, bank risk management, international financial management, M&A markets and foreign direct investment. Besides teaching, Prof. Mateev is actively engaged in consulting in the areas of foreign investment, corporate restructuring, project management, and others. Prior to working at AUE, Professor Mateev taught at the American University in Bulgaria and the University of Maine, Business School.
Dr. Panikkos Poutziouris is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Business, the Rector at UCLan Cyprus, and Founder and Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Alliance and Research (CEDAR). Professor Panikkos graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA in Economics, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Entrepreneurship and Management. For two decades, he was a Senior Lecturer and a visiting Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Business at the Manchester Business School of Manchester University, where he led the Research Program for the Financial Development of Family Businesses. Professor Panikkos teaches, educates, researches and advises around the world on the development of entrepreneurship and family business. He has led conferences and academic initiatives in England, China, Italy, Austria, Turkey, Israel, USA, Bulgaria, Colombia, Syria, Egypt, Greece and Cyprus. He is a former President of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy and a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute (USA). Recently, Professor Panikkos has received an International Award by the International Firm Institute (USA) for his outstanding work of internationally promoting the issue of family entrepreneurship in the academic and socio-economic spheres.
