Co-creating in Schools Through Art and Science

This book represents an applied, up-to-date work on RRI developments and their potential positive impact on societies. The societal challenges of the 21st century require the ability to integrate the knowledge and expertise of different societal actors, using more innovative, efficient and open approaches. Educational methodologies are in perpetual development in their attempt to provide tentative answers to three ever-changing digital age challenges: the challenge of speed, the challenge of form/at and the challenge of persistency. The current book aims to address these issues by presenting relevant case studies in the field of art, science and giving value to territory that, by the means of projects and initiatives using RRI consistent methodologies, have succeeded in their attempt to: preserve and valorise cultural heritage by using digital storytelling or crowddreaming methodology, develop educational strategies grounded on RRI and Open Schooling principles, contribute to new waysof thinking in the school environment by using RRI and promote gender equality and stimulate critical reflections on women's role in science by the means of storytelling and RRI concepts.

Auteur
Petru Sandu is Associate Researcher at the Department of Public Health, College of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences of Babe-Bolyai University, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he works to raise awareness at local and national levels on the importance of Physical Activity policy development and to contribute to healthier communities through facilitating the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-informed, cross-sectoral Physical Activity policies and programs. Among his research interest are physical activity policy and practice youth and adolescents, evidence informed health policies, dance as falls prevention intervention in older adults, and research ethics.
Valentina Tudisca is a Researcher of the Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies of the National Research Council of Italy, where she works in the research group Social Studies on Science, Education, Communication. Among her research interests are science communication; relations between evidence and decision making; participatory didactics; representations of international migrations and migrants in media and textbooks. One of her characteristics is the cross-sectorial research path, starting with Physics her Ph.D. subject to arrive to the study of interconnections between science and society through a biennial Master in Science Communication at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati in Trieste.
Adriana Valente, jurist and sociologist, is Research Director at the Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies of the National Research Council of Italy and scientific responsible of the research group Social Studies on Science, Education, Communication, which deals with international and national projects aimed at understanding and enhancing relations between science, politics and society. Among her research interests are relations between evidence and decision making; education, didactics of science and participation to the scientific debate; science communication and scientific community; representations of international migrations and migrants on media and textbooks.
