This book summarises the recent, and future, sustainable, low-cost, environment-friendly and efficient systems for clean water production, to solve clean water crisis. We cover production of water the dew and rain or via desalination, Fenton processes or electrocoagulation; nanomaterial-based water purification methods including adsorption, catalysis, smart-sensors for pollutants detection and removal. We also cover environmental management, environmental policy aspects, and review recent patents and industrial processes to produce clean water. Written by experts in the domain of wastewater treatment, production of clean water and environmental management, this new book will be a unique tool for experts and students. We anticipate it open new horizons in clean water production and will be a source of inspiration for next generations of clean water technologies researchers

Dr. Jlassi Khouloud is a researcher at Qatar University, Center of Advanced Materials. She obtained a PhD in chemistry from the Paris Diderot (ITODYS) lab in "chemistry of materials and functional surfaces." at the University Paris Diderot in 2015, her main research topic involves the design of reactive and functional polymer and hybrid nanocomposite. She is involved in the interface chemistry of nanoclay using either silanes or diazonium salts bearing polymerization initiator groups or polymer; she has been working recently on carbon and graphene quantum dots for energy conversion and water treatment applications. Dr. Jlassi has over 45 research papers and one book; she serves as editor and reviewer for many international journals. Dr. Jlassi has several international collaborations with France, Turkey, the United States, and India.
Dr. Mohamed M. Chehimi is Senior Research at French CNRS. He obtained a PhD in physical organic chemistry at the University Paris Diderot in 1988 and joined CNRS in 1989. He is expert of XPS surface analysis. His main research topic concerns the development of aryldiazonium salts as new coupling agents in materials science. The applications encompass adsorbents, sensors and actuators, reactive fillers, antibacterial surfaces, and electronic devices. He recently tackled the concept of "waste-to-wealth", designing biochar composites from agro-wastes for environmental remediation purposes. Dr Chehimi has supervised over 25 PhD theses and collaborated with academics from the five continents. He has 390+ research papers, 29 book chapters and 3 patents to his credit. He is the editor of five books and guest-edited nine themed issues. He is a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals from historical publishers. He served as Executive Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry Africa (Springer Nature) from 2018 to 2022, and since 2023 he is Editor-in-Chief of Emergent Materials (Springer Nature). He received the President of Tunisia's Award for research and innovation in 2022. Dr Chehimi has just been appointed A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Distinguished Professor at SRM IST in Chennai (Tamil Nadu, India).
Prof. Mehmet A. Oturan is a full Professor of Exceptional Class at Universit Gustave Eiffel. He obtained Chemical Engineer degree (1973), MS degree (1975) and Ph.D. degree (1979) in Analytical Electrochemistry at the Hacettepe University in Ankara (Turkey) before becoming Associate Professor at the Paris-7 University (France). His research activities mainly focus on the generation of radical species in a catalytic way by means of electrochemical, chemical or photochemical techniques, including their application to chemical kinetics, degradation mechanisms and electrochemical engineering. His publications are cited over 26,000 times with an H-index of 83 (Web of Science, October 2023). He published also four books and fifteen book chapters.
