3D Printing

The book provides a detailed methodology for addressing the needs of material processing (polymer/ metals/ bio-gels etc.) and various engineering applications in the next 5-10 years. The book presents a detailed mechanical, morphological, thermal, and rheological characterization of selected materials and highilights the required environmental standards to be maintained.

Dr. Rupinder Singh is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teacher Training and Research, Chandigarh. He has received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Patiala. His area of research is additive manufacturing, composite filament processing, rapid tooling, metal casting, and plastic solid waste management. He has co-authored more than 350 science citation indexed research papers, 10 books, and more than 185 book chapters, and has presented more than 100 research papers in various national/international conferences. His research has been cited more than 10833 times with an H index of 49 and a google scholar i-10 index of 217. As per Standford University, He has been listed among the world's top 2% scientists.

Dr. Ranvijay Kumar is an Assistant Professor at University Centre for Research and Development, Chandigarh University. He has received Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Punjabi University, Patiala. Additive manufacturing, shape memory polymers, smart materials, friction-based welding techniques, advanced materials processing, polymer matrix composite preparations, reinforced polymer composites for 3D printing, plastic solid waste management, thermosetting recycling, and destructive testing of materials are the skills of Dr. Kumar. Dr. Kumar has won the prestigious CII MILCA award in 2020. He has co-authored more than 52 research papers in science citation indexed journals, 46 book chapters and has presented 20 research papers in various national/international level conferences. Dr. Vinay Kumar an Assistant Professor at University Centre for Research and Development, Chandigarh University. He has received Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Punjabi University, Patiala. His area of research is Additive Manufacturing and the application of 3D printing for the development of new customizable solutions for structural and non-structural defects in heritage structures, and biomaterials for clinical applications. He has contributed extensively to Additive Manufacturing literature with publications appearing in Composite Part: B, Materials Letters, Journal of Manufacturing Processes, Journal of Thermoplastic composite Materials, Journal of Composite Materials, Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, Sadhana, Materials Research Express, Advances in Materials Processing Technology, Proceedings of Institute of Mechanical Engineers Part-B, Part E, Part H, Part L, etc. He has authored 30 research papers and 25 book chapters. Dr. J. Paulo Davim is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He is also distinguished as honorary professor in several universities/colleges/institutes in China, India and Spain. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997, M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (materials and manufacturing processes) in 1991, Mechanical Engineering degree (5 years) in 1986, from the University of Porto (FEUP), the Aggregate title (Full Habilitation) from the University of Coimbra in 2005 and the D.Sc. (Higher Doctorate) from London Metropolitan University in 2013. He is Senior Chartered Engineer by the Portuguese Institution of Engineers with an MBA and Specialist titles in Engineering and Industrial Management as well as in Metrology. He is also Eur Ing by FEANI-Brussels and Fellow (FIET) of IET-London. He has more than 35 years of teaching and research experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, with special emphasis in Machining & Tribology. He has also interest in Management, Engineering Education and Higher Education for Sustainability.
