Prof. Dr. Lopa Mandal is currently Professor of the Department of Information Technology, Institute of Engineering and Management. She has completed her M.Tech/IT and Ph.D. (Engineering) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. Her research interest includes artificial intelligence, data analytics, distributed and cloud computing, mobile computing, learning technologies. She has got many national and international journal and conference publications and book chapters to her credit. She has been a technical program committee member of different international conferences and editorial/review board member of International Journal. She has been Volume Editor of Proceedings of IEM-ICDC 2020 published in Springer Nature Book Series Lecture Notes in Data Engineering and Communication Technologies" and Guest Editor of American Journal of Advanced Computing IEM-ICDC 2020 Special issue on Computational Intelligence and Smart Information and Communication Technology published by Smart Society, USA, in January 2021. She has been the convener and organizing chair and also organizing committee member of different international conferences. She is also a member of Computer Society of India. She has got around 20 years of work experience in industry and academia.
Dr. João Manuel R.S. Tavares is graduated in Mechanical Engineering from University of Porto, Portugal (1992). In 1995, he obtained a M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the field of Industrial Informatics, in 2001, a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and in 2015, the Habilitation in Mechanical Engineering from the same university. From 1995 to 2000, he was a researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. Since 2001, he has been a senior researcher and project coordinator at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. He was Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto between 2001-2011, Associate Professor in the same department between 2011- 2021 and has been Full Professor in the same department since 2021/8. Since 2001, he has been supervisor and co-supervisor of several M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis. He is co-author of more than 650 articles in national and international journals and conferences and co-editor of more than 55 international books and guest-editor of several special issues of international journals. Also, he has been evolved in several research projects, both as researcher and as scientific coordinator. He has been co-chairman of various international conferences and of numerous mini-symposia, workshops, and thematic sessions, and a member of organizing and scientific committees of several national and international conferences. He has been a member of several national and international journal editorial boards and editor-in-chief of the T&F journal Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering: Imaging & Visualization,, Editor-in-Chief of the journal Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering: Imaging & Visualization published by Taylor & Francis and Co-editor of the Springer book series Lecture Notes in Computational Vision and Biomechanics. His main research areas include computational vision, medical imaging, biomechanics, scientific visualization, human computer interaction, and new product development.
Dr. Valentina Emilia Balas is currently full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, Aurel Vlaicü University of Arad, Romania. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is author of more than 250 research papers in refereed journals and international conferences. Her research interests are in intelligent systems, fuzzy control, soft computing, smart sensors, information fusion, modeling and simulation. She is the editor-in-chief to International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and to International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), member in editorial board member of several national and international journals and is the director of Intelligent Systems Research Center in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad. She is a member of EUSFLAT, SIAM and a senior member IEEE, Member in TC Fuzzy Systems (IEEE CIS), member in TC Emergent Technologies (IEEE CIS), member In TC Soft Computing (IEEE SMCS).
