This volume explores the governance and management of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in relation to innovation policy and governance systems, highlighting its goal, challenges, and opportunities. Divided into two sections, it addresses the role of governments in promoting innovation in Latin-American contexts as well as barriers and opportunities for STI governance in the region. Luis Antonio Orozco is a Full Professor in the School of Management at the Universidad Externado de Colombia and a senior researcher at the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Jaime Humberto Sierra González is Associate Professor in the Business Department in the School of Business and Economics - Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia. Javier García-Estévez is Assistant Professor in planning and territorial development at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Development Studies at the University of Los Andes, Colombia.
