Auteur
Professor Scarfe graduated from the University of Adelaide School of Dentistry in 1982 and was awarded Fellowship in the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1986. He graduated from UTHSC at San Antonio with a Certificate and Masters in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and has been on the faculty at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry since 1993. Dr. Scarfe is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a registered specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is Past Treasurer of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and Past-Vice President and Past North American Regional Director of the International Association of Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology. He is Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Associate Editor of the Radiology Section of Oral Surgery Oral Pathology Oral Medicine Oral Radiology and member of Journal Editorial Advisory Board forthe Australian Dental Journal. He is a reviewer for over 30 journals including the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, Journal of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and The Angle Orthodontist. Dr. Scarfe has published extensively on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) including recent consensus statements on general and specific use guidelines and discipline specific applications of CBCT. He co-authored chapters on CBCT in the most recent edition of the standard dental undergraduate textbook used in the United States, Oral Radiology: Principles and Interpretation by White and Pharoah. He presents internationally as well as nationally and is active in research on the clinical applications of CBCT imaging.
Dr. Angelopoulos is a graduate of the Aristotle University, School of Dentistry, Thessaloniki, Greece. His postdoctoral training includes a 2-year internship in Oral Surgery (Aristotle University) and a 1-year GPR program (Truman Medical Center, Kansas City). In addition, he has completed a 3-year Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology resi¬dency program at the University of Missouri- Kansas City, School of Dentistry, and he was awarded the M.S. degree in Oral Biology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a fellow of the International College of Oral Implantologists. He has held university appoint¬ments at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry (assis¬tant professor 08/0202/07) and at Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine (associate professor and director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology 03/0712/10). Currently, he is an associate professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and an adjunct professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Columbia University. He is the past president of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) and has served as the Executive Director of this organization for the last 4 years. He has served in several leadership positions and committees at the AAOMR as well as IADMFR (International Association of Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology). Last, he is an Associate Editor of OOOO (the official journal of the AAOMR). He has pub¬lished over 40 scientific papers and has spoken in several conventions and CE courses, nationally as well as internationally, on a variety of radiology topics. Moreover, he is a frequent speaker for the ADA annual conventions.
