This book explores various technical domains, including industrial engineering, computer sciences, process engineering, and system engineering, seamlessly integrated with management theories. It explores how this fusion of knowledge can drive improvements, transformations, and the design of new processes, products, or organizational structures, ultimately generating significant value for both society and the market. The book introduces the concept of management engineering and delves into its implementation process, including the development of new methodologies or frameworks designed to solve complex problems effectively. It provides a comprehensive perspective on the evolution of management engineering, presenting the most relevant strategies for assimilating this approach to generate value, especially in the context of emerging economies.
Offers a comprehensive perspective on the dynamic nature of management engineering Presents the most relevant strategies for assimilating management engineering to generate societal value Integrates knowledge from diverse technical domains, including industrial engineering and computer sciences
Auteur
Guillermo Cortes Robles has a master's degree in industrial engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba and a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems from the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, France. Today, he is a professor of engineering science at the Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico-Instituto Tecnologico de Orizaba in the postgraduate school, specifically in the management engineering master and the engineering Sciences Ph.D. program. His research interests are applying the TRIZ theory combined with other approaches (e.g., knowledge management, decision support systems, genetic algorithms, creativity techniques, among other technologies) to accelerate the innovation process. He is the President of the Mexican TRIZ association (AMETRIZ). Was the technical leader of more than 15 projects and had published several articles in different journals. Also was the director of 25 master thesis and five doctoral dissertations.
Eduardo Roldán-Reyes has amaster in the science of engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba and a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems from the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, France. Today, he is a full-researcher at the Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico-Instituto Tecnologico de Orizaba in the postgraduate school, specifically in the engineering management master and the engineering Sciences Ph.D. program. His research interests are the development of information systems based on knowledge management, decision support systems, machine learning, data mining, and text mining, to assist the operation and management activities in organizations. He belongs to the National Systems of Researcher of the National Council of Science and Technology in Mexico.
Fernando Aguirre-y-Hernández has a management master's degree and a Ph.D. in management and economic sciences. In addition, he has experience as a CEO in different enterprises and commercial organizations, which were the basis fordeveloping the SIGMIL model, applicable in the design of strategic plans. Furthermore, he collaborates with several international universities and has published three books and several articles. He is a professor at the Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico-Instituto Tecnologico de Orizaba in the management engineering master program.
