Auteur
Maha El Dimachki is the Centre Head for the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub in Singapore. The centre's work develops public goods supporting centrals banks in how they discharge their roles in a digital economy and how they can improve the financial system using novel ideas and emerging technologies. Prior to this, El Dimachki was Head of Department for Early and High Growth Oversight leading the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) response to the Kalifa review of UK Fintech and supporting startups and scaleups in their regulatory journey. El Dimachki joined the FCA in 2017 to set up the first Payments Department and was responsible for crafting and implementing the FCA supervisory strategy for the UK payments sector. This included leading the implementation of the Second Payments Services Directive (PSD2) and Open Banking. With roles in both private and public sector over the last two decades, Maha has a keen interest in observing and participating in the many exciting changes that are unfolding in the financial services, innovation and fintech environment.
