And Stanley Miller,whomostgenerously,astheAbdusSalamLecturer,isgoingto giveushis Recollectionsofthebeginningofchemicalevolutionexperiments : DearStanley,itisagreatprivilege,andindeedapleasuretointroduceyou. Thisisina wayaquiteeasytask,becauseweallalreadyknowthat theMillerexperiment ,whichis mostappropriatelyplacedinthetitleofthisconference,in1953,exactly50yearsago,was amajorbreakthrough,openingupanewresearch?eldwith,andfor,rationalandadvanced chemicalexperimentationonthemolecularoriginoflife.
