Dr. Jitendra Kumar Katiyar is presently working as a Research Assistant Professor, in Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology Kattankulathur Chennai, India. His research interests include tribology of carbon materials, polymer composites, self-lubricating polymers, lubrication tribology, modern manufacturing techniques and coatings for advanced technologies. He obtained his bachelor degree from UPTU Lucknow with Honours in 2007. He obtained his masters, from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in 2010 and Ph.D. from the same institution in 2017. He is the life member of Tribology Society of India, Malaysian Society of Tribology, Institute of Engineers, India and The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) etc. He has authored/ co- authored/ published more than 30+ articles in reputed journals, 30+ articles in international/national conferences, 15+ Book Chapters, 5+ books published such as, Automotive Tribology and Tribology in Materials and Application in Springer, Tribology and Sustainability, Green Tribology: Emerging Technologies and Applications, Bio Tribology: Emerging Technologies and Applications in CRC Press USA and Engineering Thermodynamics for UG level in Khanna Publication. He has served as Member Editorial Board, Tribology Materials, Surfaces and Interfaces and Review Editor in Frontier in Mechanical Engineering: Tribology. Further, He has served as a guest associate editor for special issue floated in Tribology Materials, Surfaces and Interfaces, Journal of Engineering Tribology Part J, Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering and Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering. He is also an active reviewer in various reputed journals related to materials and tribology. He has delivered more than 30+ invited talk on various research fields related to tribology, composite materials, surface engineering and machining.
Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Sahu received his BE degree in Mechanical Engineering. 2002 from Berhampur University, M.Tech degree in Production Engineering in 2011 from NIT Rourkela and Ph.D in Nano-manufacturing from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2016. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India. He received Institute Day Best Scholar Award in 2010, Best M.Tech Award in 2012 and Prof. M. S. Shanmugam Best PhD Thesis Award in 2016. He has published many papers, Book and Book Chapters at National and International level. His current research areas of interest include micro/nano-machining, nano-materials synthesis & characterization, precision engineering and additive manufacturing.
Dr. T. C. S. M. Gupta currently working as Senior Vice President, R&D, Quality and Technical, Apar Industries Limited. He worked at under CSIR scholarship at Indian Institute of Petroleum for his Ph.D (HNB Garhwal University) and Masters in Chemistry from University of Roorkee. He has co- authored/published 50+ papers, two Indian patents and 6 commisioned technical feasibility reports. He is member/working Group lead in professional societies Cigre France, IEC, BIS, Triabology Society of India, Malaysia He is currently Secretary of NLGI India and Vice Chairman of Association of Lubricants Manufacturers Union(ALMU), Singapore . He is approved supervisor/examiner/advisory panel member of Nottingham University, Taylors University, Malaysia ICT Mumbai, PDPU Gandhinagar DDU, Nadiad for Masters and Doctoral programs. He worked as Chief Technical and Operating Officer of an Independent lubricant company in Malaysia and travelled extensively for professional and technical conferences across the globe.

Few examples and case studies about usage of synthetic lubricants has been included.
