Auteur
James is Managing Director of Strategic Risk Consulting for Marsh. He has extensive experience of delivering Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management, Supply Chain and Operational Resilience projects across a wide range of industries. He previously worked for PwC where he was responsible for building the firm's enterprise resilience advisory services. He has also held Head Risk Management roles for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority in the UK and for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Outside of his day to day role; James chairs the International Standards Committee (ISO) responsible for the development of all global Business Continuity and Organizational Resilience Standards. Under his chairmanship the group has published a wide range of Standards including ISO 22316 (Organizational Resilience) and the 2019 revision of ISO 22301 and ISO 22313 (Business Continuity Management). Through his ISO role and broader consulting experience, James is regularly asked to speak at conferences on the subject of Business Continuity and Resilience. He is also often quoted in the media having appeared on, or been quoted by the BBC, CNN and the Times newspaper. Prior to his consulting experience, James worked for the UK Cabinet Office where he was responsible for planning for terrorism events during the London Olympic Games in 2012. This role involved working to support Government Ministers in responding to national emergencies as part of the UK's crisis response structures (otherwise known as COBR). James in an Honorary Member of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI). He is based in London.
