IAN MCLACHLAN is the author of seven books including the best selling Final Flights and Eighth Air Force Bomber Stories. He has written numerous magazine articles of aviation subjects for publications such as Flypast magazine. His previous works for the History Press include: Eighth Air Force Bomber Stories - A New Selection and USAAF Fighter Stories - A New Selection. Ian appeared in Channel 4's Time Team's first and very successful programme on aviation archaeology, adapted from a story in his books. He lives in Beccles, Suffolk.
