H. G. Dierdorff earned her MFA from the University of Virginia. She is the recipient of the 2022 Dogwood Literary Award for poetry, the 2022 Daniel Pink Memorial Poetry Prize, and a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship. Her writing has appeared in journals such as Cut Bank, Arkansas International, About Place, and Willow Springs.

"Rain, Wind, Thunder, Fire, Daughter narrates the speaker's coming of age in a world of accelerating climate apocalypses and environmental loss. Throughout the book, as the speaker deconstructs her inherited Christian fundamentalism, her worldview and use of poetic forms expand. Written across time but in a continuous present tense, the poems return again and again to the landscape of Eastern Washington, using rhetoric and repetition to expose the violent legacies of patriarchy, settler-colonialism, manifest destiny, and fire suppression"--
