Auteur
Professor Alexandra (Sandra) Adams is head of the Aquatic Vaccine Unit at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. She has worked on the development of fish vaccines and rapid diagnostic tests since 1985, having graduated in Biochemistry at the University of Glasgow (BSc 1979) and University College London (PhD 1983). Professor Adams' main current research interests include host-pathogen interactions, fish vaccine development, development of multiplex tests for the detection of fish pathogens and components of the fish immune system, and investigation of the effects of feed components and novel feed additives on the immune system and disease susceptibility. Professor Adams is also CEO of Aquatic Diagnostics Ltd, a spin-out company from University of Stirling.
