Dr. Abeba N. Turi is a scholar with expertise in Digital Economy. She has worked as an assistant researcher with the UNESCO Chair in Data Privacy, Spain. Currently, Dr. Turi is an associate professor at the University Canada West in Vancouver. She has also served in various international research and teaching positions in Africa, Europe, and Canada. Dr. She has recently joined the Master of Data Science program at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include Collaborative Economy, Fintech, Decentralized Finance, Mechanism Design, Business Model Design and Engineering, Distributed Ledger Technologies and Cryptonomics, Digital Transformation, Tech Policy, and Emerging Tech Analysis, Decentralization, and Data Science. She is a member of various professional groups, including the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) 's Technical Committee (TC) on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT). Her works have been published in various peer-reviewed journals and indexed conference proceedings. She is the author of the book 'Technologies for Modern Digital Entrepreneurship: Understanding Emerging Tech at the Cutting-Edge of the Web 3.0 Economy', Springer Apress 2020. Dr. Turi's works have been presented at several international conferences in China, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Dr. Turi identifies herself as a disruptive tech and decentralization enthusiast.
