This book covers a wide array of electrochemistry applications to environmental problems. It includes emerging technologies such as electrophotooxidation and electro disinfection, and it also analyzes electrochemical technologies in sludge and soil treatment.
Starting with the fundamentals of environmental electrochemistry, this book presents a broad range of electrochemistry applications for managing environmental problems. The editors and authors introduce basic techniques in selecting and fabricating electrode materials, followed by a theoretical analysis of electrochemical processes. Next, they examine green electrochemical operations, electrochemical technologies in water treatment, and finally established wastewater treatment technologies, such as electrochemical reactors for metal recovery, electrocoagulation, electroflotation, and electrooxidation. Emerging technologies such as electrophotooxidation, electrodisinfection, and electrochemical technologies in sludge and soil treatment are all presented in detail. The book is an excellent reference for environmental engineers, chemical engineers, civil engineers, and electrochemists.
