This rich volume of sector studies demonstrates how the Indian business community is using the power of sustainability standards to go beyond CSR. As an academic volume, I appreciate the fact that this book does not shy away from exploring some of the complex issues surrounding global value chains, the quest for sustainability and India's role in shaping this agenda. A welcome and timely addition to the growing body of literature on the role of market-based approaches to sustainable development. Karin Kreider , Executive Director, ISEAL Alliance
