"Listening to what the universe tells us about how we perform, the results we create, and the general way we impact the world is one of the most important and difficult things we do as people.Riordan provides a fantastic viewpoint of how to think about feedback that is around us at all times and participate as feedback givers and receivers every day. Her practical, science-based approach to this topic applies to everyone, whether a student, early career professional, manager, or a leader if you have a pulse and want to improve your life, this book will give you insightinto how to do that." Rich Cober, Chief HR Officer, USA "This book is a gift to anyone looking to reach their goals both personally and professionally by harnessing the power of feedback. Feedback is all around us in our daily lives. Feedback can propel you forward if you are open to owning how it impacts you as both the giver and receiver. In my work, feedback is something that can be the difference maker in driving a productive company culture or turning it into a toxic one. This book provides easy-to-implement strategies for how to have thoughtful and constructive conversations regarding feedback, which in turn empowers individuals to be the best version of themselves." Emily Roberts, President of a corporate wellness company, USA "Feedback is to growth as growth is to success. This book inexorably links the necessity of both positive and negative feedback with unlocking life's full potential. The concept of using feedback as a forward-looking messagehas beentransformational for me as I continue to grow my team and manage their professional potential. I will continue to refer to this book as I grow in my role as a leader in my company." Matthew Coursen, Executive Managing Director at JLL, USA "Brodie Gregory Riordan has a special gift that allows her to take complex material and repackage and explain it in a way so that it becomes accessible to everyone. Fortunately for all of us, she has chosen to apply this gift to the domain of feedback. Feedback is indeed complex and has a breadth and depth that can be lost on some folks. This complexity keeps individuals from really understanding the ins and outs of feedback processes. This book is not just about feedback at work or feedback in intimate relationships or feedback at school. It's about feedback and considers its depth and breadth. Thus, we are left with a terrific book that unpacks one of the most important daily (or hourly!) elements of our lives and is valuable to all of us who provide and/or receive feedback in any facet of our lives in others words, this book is for you. Get it on your nightstand as it will impact every facet of your life!" Dr. Paul Levy, University of Akron, USA "This book helped me re-frame the way I think about feedback and be more aware of the value of the everyday feedback I receive from my environment, colleagues, friends, family, and self." Shelbi Hendricks, VP of Strategy at OneTeam Partners, USA

Feedback is an incredibly valuable source of information - it enables us to be more self-aware and understand what we are doing well, and it tells us what we could be doing differently, more of, or less of to improve our performance and achieve our goals. Feedback Fundamentals and Evidence-Based Best Practices: Give It, Ask for It, Use It provides an essential overview of feedback fundamentals, what gets in the way of effective feedback exchanges, and the impact of technology on feedback interactions. The value of feedback is often unrealized because people dread giving it, dread receiving it, and may not know what to do with it once they get it. Feedback Fundamentals and Evidence-Based Best Practices balances research, testimonials, and practical tools to provide readers with a thorough understanding of feedback exchanges. Critical findings from decades of research in psychology, business, and other disciplines are distilled into tools and strategies that readers can easily adopt in their own lives, regardless of who they are or what they do. Throughout the book are a wealth of examples from a variety of people and situations, both within and outside traditional work contexts. Feedback Fundamentals and Evidence-Based Best Practices: Give It, Ask for It, Use It is a crucial resource for professionals, leaders, and anyone of any industry or stage in life looking to give better feedback, proactively ask for feedback, gracefully receive feedback, and put that feedback to use.
