Negativity and pessimism seem to dominate the media in recent years, overshadowing the bright side of our beautiful planet and disheartening its inhabitants. Not to deny the prevailing challenges, but tomorrow is far from complete ruin and doom. Brightening Tomorrow
Together aims at bringing optimists from many disciplines of expertise and walks of life together to synergise existing know-how and further the latest technologies and measures to hasten the brightening of tomorrow. This book is part of the big dream of the Turbulence and Energy Laboratory. It strives to bring together a diverse group to exchange state-of-the-art progresses and to promote collaborations across different disciplines to hasten the brightening of tomorrow together. Topics of interest include engineering cleaner energy, improving our understandings of water and wastewater, reducing waste and pollution at all fronts, and actualizing eco-friendly agriculture and living.
Brings a diverse group of experts together to exchange knowledge of progress and promote collaboration Reports on latest progress and how interdisciplinary researchers are solving problems of efficiency and sustainability Covers cleaner energy, oceans and air, waste and pollution, and eco-friendly agriculture and living
Auteur
Professor David S-K Ting is the Founder of the Turbulence & Energy Laboratory. He supervises students on a wide range of research projects primarily in the Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy areas. To date, Dr. Ting has co/supervised over ninety graduate students and co-authored more than one hundred and eighty journal papers. His editorial involvement includes a dozen special issues in high-impact journals, three volumes with IET, four with Springer, two with CRC/Taylor and Francis, one with World Scientific Publishing, in addition to four single-authored textbooks.
Dr. Ahmad Vasel-Be-Hagh is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Founder of theThermofluids Discovery Lab at University of South Florida. He develops analytical models, numerical simulations, and laboratory/field experiments to add physical insight to the understanding of fluid mechanics for more accurate prediction and control of flows. His research applications include wind turbines and wind farms, aircraft and submarines, marine hydrokinetic devices, and mechanical energy storage technologies. He has more than 30publications in scientific journals. He has edited nine books for major publishers, including Springer and Taylor & Francis, and multiple journal special issues for Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments (Elsevier) and International Journal of Sustainable Energy (Taylor & Francis).
